Concetta Bertoldi, a renowned medium and author, sits with spiritual advisor and friend Ginger Granno after a meditation session. They meditate before each of Bertoldi’s mediumship events where over 100 people come to see if she can contact a dead loved one. Bertoldi went public with her abilities after the death of her brother, seeing how her gifts could provide comfort to others.

The mediums and psychics photographed have been working in the field for over two decades. They believe that their abilities have the potential to help heal the people who are open to receive it. When people show up in the midst of grief, trauma, and transition these mediums act as a guide.
This is an ongoing project following metaphysical practitioners around New York and New Jersey.

Marie Jean Armone sits in her home in upstate New York where she had worked as a medium for over a decade.
